FLOW - dancing between two cultures
Calm movements, fluid rhythms, and sudden collisions. Iris and Yulia explore their roots through dance. East Asian traditional dance and Hip Hop merge into their own free and intuitive movement style. Move with them in a search for connection, friendship, and the feeling of belonging.

about the makers
Iris creates and teaches choreography, and also uses photography, film, and mixed media to make sense of her surroundings. Yulia has a background in academic research and improvisational dance, drawing strength as a maker from these different worlds. Based on their personal stories, they address social and societal themes together through the physical language of dance.
Sharing our stories and movement is the most valuable part of our process. With FLOW we like to focus on sharing and connecting. Which is why we have organised a freestyle dance jam in collaboration with House of Hip Hop Utrecht. This jam is something we would like to continue organising as a returning event.
We are proud to announce that FLOW X CTF 2026 is supported by Gemeente Utrecht, Janivo Stichting and Fentener van Vlissingen Fonds.
We are very excited to continue this journey we started with FLOW. This personal story will grow with us forever. The creation process sparked a lot of new ideas, and we are curious to see what the future holds.
